2008 WEXFORD BOOK FESTIVAL

11 th -13 th April 2008

Book lovers are invited to take part in the 2008 Wexford Book Festival - a literary experience designed to bring together some very exciting authors to Wexford from 11-13 th April. This year for the first time the Festival will be held in association with the Irish Book Awards and the programme will feature 'Meet the Author' events, readings, lectures and workshops, in various venues around Wexford town.

The Festival will finish with the Literary Lunch on Sunday 13 th April, the guest speaker will be MAN Booker Prizewinner, John Banville. John is joined by fellow Irish Book Awards shortlisted author, Julia Kelly ('With My Lazy Eye').

Festival Chairperson, Emer Lovett, said; "through our partnership with the Irish Book Awards we are delighted to present a range of emerging and well established authors shortlisted for the 2008 awards including Wexford authors Eoin Colfer ('The Legend of the Worst Boy in the World') and Niamh Greene ('Secret Diary of a Demented Housewife'), Brendan O'Brien ('The Story of Ireland'), Mary Kennedy ('Lines I Love'), Benjamin Black aka John Banville ('The Silver Swan'), Derek Landy ('Skulduggery Pleasant'), Martina Devlin ('Ship of Dreams') and many more."

Come and share the joy of reading, meet the authors, discuss books, and have a literary break with friends. The festival offers an ideal opportunity for comparing notes and chatting with other book enthusiasts from all over the country.
